Snow’s first possum

This was a stage that I had been waiting for when Snow gets his first possum. It happened when I had gone up to the top of the hill with some friends. The cows had come up to me on the bike so I thought that I would quickly ride down to the house and grab a bail of straw for them. I had all of the dogs with me and as I was heading down I did see Jeff scent off the side of the track but I did not stop. At the bottom of the hill Jeff and Snow turned up and I noticed a wee bit of possum fur in Snow’s mouth so I instantly knew that he would have grabbed a possum with Jeff. I also had a strong feeling that Jeff would have brought the possum out to the track before realising that I had carried on without him so I expected to find the possum on the way back up the track on the bike. Sure enough there in the middle of the track was the possum waiting to be plucked. Michael was quite surprised to see that in the time that it had taken me to ride down the hill and back that I also had a possum to pluck. His four year old son Chase gave me a hand to pluck it. I look at possum’s being worth $10 in fur plus $7 in dog food as I can feed them to the dogs. Whenever I am home and do not have any dog food I can take Jeff out for an hour and know that we should be able to get us a couple of possum’s. It will not take much to convince Snow that he is not allowed to catch possum’s, the electric collars are a great tool to help get any dog to listen and understand right from wrong.
