Since the last update there has been no building going on around the out side of the house as Garry and I have been concentrating on putting up all of the GIB on the walls and roof.
Some of the sheets of GIB are six meters long that had to be handled very carefully not to break them. I had never seen a GIB lifter before and was very impressed at how it made the job of lifting those six meter lengths up into the roof so much easier.
It took us a day to make the hearth for the fire as we had to find the right size rocks. All of the rocks were collected from around the building site. Rates plumbers came in and installed the fire for us.
On Tuesday the 24th Kerry from the Timaru District council came out and ticked off the fire and the GIB. The GIB stoppers are booked in to come up tomorrow and do their job, so Janice can start the internal painting next week. Only a couple more weeks and we should be able to move in YAHOO!
