Finally starting to make some progress on the house build. Allistar Gibb had come up with his 14 ton digger to help with any of the hard jobs. First was to dig the piles for the pole shed and then the house piles. With the auger on the end of his boom he could drill though the rock, something that we just could not do with the pick and shovel. When the mitre 10 truck turned up with the pole shed the ground was a little wet and it just did not want to get up the hill. The driver Mike went up the hill with me to the building site on the
4 wheeler. Once he had seen the whole track there was no way he was keen on taking the truck any further up the hill. Allistar came down with the digger and carted the timber up saving Mike from any more panic. Next mourning Wrights tanks turned up with the septic tank. The woman driver, Helen got taken up the track to the building site. By the time she got back down to her truck she had said there was no way she was going to driver their big truck up the track. The boss man Brian Mchaffie said he was keen to see if I
could get the truck up the hill if I was keen to drive it. It turned out a lot easier than I thought as it did not loss traction at all. The tank was 5000 litres and weighed around 3.5 tons which was just heavy enough for Allistar’s digger. Next morning Allistar lifted the septic tank into place and filled in the dirt around it. Next we headed up the hill where Allister got the site level for the water tank.
