I was still not ready to take Gus out on his 1st hunt however my son Sloan had asked if I could give him a hand to build a deck on his hut. The deck took us four days to build and while I was there I took Bro and Gus to spend the days with us. Sloan also had his two dogs Mack and Bruce.
On our 1st day Sloans dogs disappeared for a while before bailing a 93 lb boar. Gus did not get to see this boar at the bail but was with us when we carried it out.
Later in the day Mack had disappeared again so we rode the motorbike towards him when Bro bailed up a sow. While Gus got to see this pig he did not join in and because it was a pregnant sow we let here go.
It only took us four days to finish building the 40 square meter deck with just the two of us, our cordless drills and a chainsaw. I’m sure this deck will see a bit of beer spelt on it over the next few years.
