Book – All about Pig Hunting Bill has been hunting pigs since 1990 and has learnt a lot along the way. Bill’s love of dogs, pigs and hunting shows through in his stories about the many different aspects of pig hunting. He does not claim to knowing everything about pig hunting and is always wanting to learn more. This was his motivation for writing stories about the many different aspects of pig hunting that he has learnt along the way. | 4 | How to catch, skin and bone a pig This is an informative DVD showing the processes that a pig hunter may go through when catching, skinning, boning, and processing a pig. First Bill discusses some of the essential tools that we need when hunting pigs with dogs. Next stage is showing the control of the dogs at the bail as they are called off the 165 pound boar just prior to taking the killing shot. Then gutting the pig, tying the legs up and carrying the pig out. Back at Bills hut he skins the pig and demonstrates how to remove all of the bones. One front shoulder is processed into rolled roasts, the back steaks are ready to be used as either steaks or stir fry and the rest of the pig is taken to Netherby meats in Ashburton and processed into salamis, bacon, ham and sausages.
