On day 20 Poppy turned up with 8 extra piglets since then one runt has died.
Also on day 20 I got a bit of dog training in as I was clearing scrub in the orchard block the dogs got to do what ever they wanted to for the day. At one stage I did take a lamb down to the yards with the dogs and they behaved well being around that lamb all day yet they went up the hill hunting s couple of times.
In this next clip you can see how well the dogs are listening to me when I speak. I see a lot of people make the mistake of telling their dogs to perform a command to many times when you should only need to say something once.
On day 21 the dogs were getting a little restless and I caught both Tig and Rastus up in the sow block. When I called the dogs back down they had to come past the sows and piglets and did not even attempt to harass them.
Next day the dogs went a bit further and bailed up a 112 pound boar. This boar was in the tight stuff and all I could see of him was his feet so calling the dogs out I shot above his feet. The bullet went right through his heart and still he ran 20 meters. While it is hard during the lockdown to not go out hunting I know that I am very lucky to be able to still catch the odd pig from home.
