Bro is coming with me hunting every time now as he just loves being out there doing it. Two days ago I got onto a pig that was in a prick of a spot even Bro could not get across to the other dogs that were bailing. I gave the dogs about ten minutes hoping they might break this pig down into the creek but he was not going to move. I did hear his voice at one stage when he would have tried to charge a dog and it did not sound to big so I called the dogs off. Now two days later and Tig tracked back into the same place but this time the pig tried to escape making it to an easier spot for me to get too. As I was riding the bike around below Tig I heard a bark and so did Rastus as he stopped right in front of the bike. The front wheel went over his back leg before he could jump out of the way. Because he is a tuff little dog as soon as heard that next bark he was off and beat Fog up to the bail. As soon as I parked the bike up I could hear the three dog bail and then I heard Bro get there and start bailing. It did not take long before this young boar broke down into the creek thirty meters from where I was standing.
Young Bro had this young boar by the tail and he had good control of him. As I got close he let the tail go and grabbed this wee 65 pound boar by the ear while I stuck it. This is the first pig that Bro has grabbed and while he did do a good job for his age I would prefer that he stayed back and bailed.
( Dogs that grab pigs damage small pigs and get hurt on big pigs.) Work in progress.
