At this time of the year there is a lot of new growth and that is not just the good grass but also the weeds so it is time again to get the spray pack out and make a start on the thistles. A very good poison for this job is agrotone as this does not kill any other plants apart form those dreaded prickles. I have a fifteen litre spray pack which gets through quite a few thistles and it is a nice relaxing job on a calm day when there is no wind blowing. This I find is a good time to let my mind wander into many different scenarios as I have no distractions.
