131 pound boar

I love following the dogs out on the hill in this cooler weather. Recently one of my younger dogs, Tig has really stepped up his hunting. On this hunt Fog and Tig tracked off around the hil so I headed back towards the 4 wheeler with Rastus. I had to ride the bike 6 km around the track to catch up with the two dogs that had tracked about 4km to pull this boar up. It was good to see that Fog was teaching Tig how to bail the boars up on the 4 wheel drive tracks.

Because he was so easy to get to I took him home on the bike with his guts in just to see the difference in the weight. With his guts in he weighed 169 pounds and gutted he went 131 pounds. I put his stomach under one of my walnut trees so that it can furtilise the tree. Tig did get his first rip, luckily just a skin rip in the neck that was fixed up with a couple of staples.
